Henk Stallinga graduated from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1993 and founded his studio the same year.

Stallinga frequently uses parts of mass produced, everyday items and industrial processes to build his conceptual multimedia installations and sculptures. A minimalistic visual language, light, sound, and movement are recurring elements in his work.

The concepts behind Stallinga's works are often based in our awareness of the world around us. This involves concepts surrounding auditory and visual perception, our sense of time, and the experience of energy in the form of light, heat, or movement.

Studio Stallinga is the organization behind the artist Henk Stallinga. Since 1998, the studio has been run jointly with co-owner Annemarie Galani.
